Protect & Restore Maryland's Natural Treasure

The Chesapeake Bay Trust provides grant funding for on-the-ground Chesapeake Bay restoration projects throughout Maryland, reaching thousands of students, organizations and community leaders each year.  Since its inception in 1985, the Trust has awarded more than $24 million in grants, funding thousands of projects that have made a measurable impact on improving the Bay’s health and restoring Maryland’s most treasured natural resource.

Program Officer/Senior Program Officer Job Announcement

The Chesapeake Bay Trust seeks a qualified candidate to serve on its grants administration team, and will consider applications at both the Program Officer or Senior Program Officerlevels. The Program Officer/Senior Program Officer is responsible for soliciting, reviewing, and administering grant applications/awards from non-profit organizations, governments, and schools that are committed to restoring and protecting the Chesapeake Bay and its rivers.  Program Officer Level:   $40,000 to $50,000 or Senior Program Officer Level:  $50,000 to $65,000 both include an excellent benefits package and opportunities for related professional development through workshops, training programs, and conferences.  Please click on Program Officer/Senior Program Officer to review the full position descriptions.  Please send a resume and cover memo by May 23, 2008 via email to hadams@cbtrust.org and place “Program Officer Position” in the subject line of the email.

Treasure the Chesapeake Celebration

The Chesapeake Bay Trust would like to thank all of our supporters, sponsors and silent auction donors who participated in the 10th Annual Treasure the Chesapeake Celebration. This annual fundraiser helps the Trust to fund everything from student field trips to tree plantings to environmental impact studies. In 2007 alone, the Trust funded 440 grants, reaching 70,000 students and 30,000 volunteers in support of projects that had a measurable impact on the Chesapeake Bay restoration effort.

Chesapeake Bay Trust Earns 4-Star Charitable Ranking
For the sixth consecutive year, the Trust has earned a 4-star ranking, the highest ranking possible, from independent charity evaluator Charity Navigator.  Only 3% of all U.S. Charities evaluated by Charity Navigator have earned a 4-star ranking for six consecutive years.
